Este artefacto que tengo entre manos es lo nuevo tanto de The Pilgrim Rose como de Hendrik Röver, quienes han aunado fuerzas para grabar una selección de canciones que pertenecen al gusto compartido de sus componentes. La unión, como dice el propio Hendrik, supone una exaltación de la amistad y es además el reflejo discográfico de reuniones precedentes sobre un escenario.
Los 13 temas del CD se podrían dividir en dos grupos. Por una parte tenemos una excelente selección de versiones, como son "The Carolinian" de Dave Wilson (Stillhouse, Chatham County Line), "God's Own Singer" de Bernie Leadon (Flying Burrito Brothers), "Trashcan Tomcat" (Jim Lauderdale y Robert Hunter, este último letrista de Grateful Dead), el clasico "I'll Fly Away" de Albert Brumley, "Christian Life" de The Louvin Brothers o las tradicionales "Shady Grove" y "Man of Constant Sorrow".
Por otra tenemos los temas propios: 2 canciones revisitadas y una nueva de cada banda/autor, "Casa Abandonada" y "Mentiras", más el tema nuevo "Chicas" son de Hendrik Röver. Por su parte The Pilgrim Rose recuperan "Daddy's Back in Town" y "Like a Hungry Yearning" y nos presentan "How Could You (Leave Me This Way)".
El disco fue grabado en 7 horas escasas en el estudio Guitar Town Recordings de Hendrik Rover, con todos los músicos tocando y cantando a la vez, lo que le hace mantener esa magia que sólo da la autenticidad del músico honesto. También hay que resaltar unas excelentes armonías vocales marca de la casa y un acoplamiento entre los músicos más que notable, vista la premura de la grabación. Se nota el buen rollo.
Y eso os cuento, 13 temas que pueden suponer un estupendo acercamiento a estos musicazos para aquellos despistados que no los conocieran o un nuevo trabajo que de seguro hará las delicias de los conocedores.
